Part I – Another
great day escaping the pressures of one's office life, and returning to the
beautiful scenery of nature served free-of-charge via Provo Canyon!
Today's run was a much needed break from my, two HD monitors, ergonomic keyboard,
and mouse. We parked near Will's Canyon Pit Stop at the mouth of Provo Canyon.
We walked then jogged along the road in front of the gas station until the road
ends at a cul-de-sac, and soft, dirt trails started. Next, it was a 1 mile
ascent with some switchbacks to the top of the mountainous hills above the
Subway. Therefore, this trail run is called, "Subway Trails". After running up the unforgiving hills for 1.2
miles we paused… for a minute to allow our heart rates to recover while
enjoying a juicy plum treats - yummy!

Part II – After digesting the fibrous, water-rich fruit we then ran on flat, compact dirt for about 300 meters until the goat trails started (they gradually guided us downward, downward into the Provo Canyon bowl overlooking Timpanogos Park). There was a drinking fountain located near the northwest corner of the park adjacent to the Provo River Trail. However, prior to that we paused briefly to drench our hair and faces with fresh, cold, clean, mountain water in the stream that runs strong through the park - so nice!
Part III - "The Provo River Trail" we ran south along the asphalt for about 1.2 miles or so until reach the parking lot nearby Subway- so awesome! My Simplifile co-worker, Lance and I ran this same route twice last week, and for the first time this week was today. In total this was my sixth attempt up the hills and down the tricky, narrow goat trails. The level of difficult decreases as my fitness level increases. Although, each time on the same "Subway Trails" route, well, the exquisiteness, and beauty of nature augments! In summary, this is a great, challenging, rewarded, and scenic trail run offering spectacular view of Provo, Orem, Mt. Timpanogos, Timpanogos Park, Provo Canyon, and nature. If you park near Subway and then follow the route, it is 3.5 miles roundtrip. Your route may vary 0.1 – 0.5 miles depending on the path you select running down into the bowl of trails above Timpanogos Park – best of luck, and… keep on running!

Whether you walk,
hike, stroll, jog, bike, or run along the paths in life running is an ideal similar
to many sports in life. Running through the little problems in life allows my
mind to conquer the great, more important issues. A problem is some minute
difficulty that affects just me along. An issue is a grave problem that affects
two or more persons (one of them me). So, the next time you think you have a
problem, well, does it involve just you? If yes, go out and exercise, if the
problem is still there, perhaps it is more of an issue, and you will need the
other parties involved to derive a resolution.
Sincerely,
Orange Rabbit Runner
