I have had a silly goal to get since the RANGAR race back in 2013 to get my 35K or 35,000 step badge. Well... JP and I went hiking in southern Utah and Bryce Canyon was just too beautiful to stop! We overshot our goal with two of the hardest hikes and ended up doing 47,570 steps on Tuesday. Ugh! I was so, so tired that day. I just needed one more mile to reach the 50K badge and was unable to do so. The next day after some good rest we ventured into Zion National Park and completed the day with another 35K plus. It was a great week to have a birthday, explore two national parks, climb some serious altitude, and oh yeah, JP and I took a ton of pictures. We both wore our +Fitbit One trackers all the while tracking our movements as we navigated through the canyons, up and down trails, along switchbacks, and passing folks from Europe, Asia, North America, and even other locals from Utah.

Awoke before the sunrise after sleeping in the great outdoors just outside of Bryce Canyon National Park at a quaint camping spot called, Bryce Canyon Pines. It is located on Highway 12 near mile marker 10. There is a lodge, a Chevron gas station, warm shows, RV hook-ups, and plenty of campsites with picnic tables, trees for shade, and fire pits. The sunrise was amazing and the hills lit up just as the sun peaked over the rise miles and miles away. The warmth of the sun felt tremendous after being slightly chilled all night since the sky was clear. Nevertheless, on a clear night the stars were brighter and the moon provided plenty of light walking around the site. After a quick breakfast of chocolate milk and granola bars is was a short drive to Bryce Canyon National Park. We looked for the more difficult trails for this vacation was all about "difficult"!

Fairyland Loop
The hike began from the Sunset or Sunrise trail and we hiked down, down, and even farther down into the canyon and yes, it was amazingly beautiful!
