This year is different from other years for it the year 2013. I started the year by creating family, religious community, career, personal, and fitness goals. Avoiding too much personal information I strongly feel a need, and even a desire to be able to run. The desire is more than just to finish a 5K race, but to finish it with nothing left in my physical tank. To cross the finish line running, breathing on fumes of calorie traces leftover from the extreme exertion for 3.14 miles. Do you share in this same dream? To finish an event knowing you gave 100% both physically and mentally?
Fitbit One versus the iPhone Moves App
The "gym" is somewhere and yet everywhere... during work hours our corporate office is a gym with three stairwells, and an underground parking lot or a 1/10 of a mile cement track. Ergo, twice daily I take a five-minute break and climb every stairwell up and down. And then walk briskly or run back and forth in the parking garage. I did this even while using two devices to measure my body's output. The +Fitbit One and the +Apple App reviews (Mac, iPhone, iPod, IPad) Moves Fitness Tracker App
Stats Before
Fitbit One device = 5,617 steps
Moves App = 2,834 steps
Stats After
Fitbit One device = 6,576 steps (difference of 905)
Moves App = 3,793 steps (difference of 959)
End Report - too close to call...
Test Variables
Both devices were fully charged
Fitbit one was clipped to my pocket while the iPhone 4S was in my back pocket.
Which one is better...? Overall, I feel the Fitbit is easier to use, and gives the average person or an athletic geek more data than you can shake a smartphone at during a 24-hour day! The iPhone needs charging if not daily at least every 48 or 72 hours. Whereas the +Fitbit One only needs a charge every five - seven days. I enjoy how being able to leave my iPhone behind and just go running, come back, synchronize the device by simply opening the Fitbit app and then... my stats are there with reports, averages, and letting me know how much farther to walk, cycle, run, jog, or stair climb to reach my daily goal of 10,000 steps. Moreover, the online website is easy-to-use and offers wonderful feedback.
